Chocolate - Gizmodo

Today I touched on some cellphone hacking/protection techniques, and the LG Chocolate phone. We have beat the Chocolate like a dead horse in the past, so you can find all of our coverage . Don't forget to check out what Mossberg .

For cellphone hacking/tweaking for beginners I would recommend the . It is pretty much a calling card that allows you to display any caller ID number on outgoing calls, therefore being able to gain access into voicemails and such. It also allows for more efficient prank calls, and even recording of said prank calls.

This was the same product that recently . If you don't feel like paying the money for these Spoofcards, just hit *67 before dialing the number to hide your caller ID info.

LG is looking to squeeze as much money out its Chocolate line of cellphones as possible and since Americans love the clamshell (more so than any other market, cellphone reps have told me on numerous occasions), LG is only more than happy to oblige.
Looking at these first pictures, which are only just slightly less blurry than the Zapruder film, you can immediately tell that LG is doing away with the whole "red=sexy" motif found in the available domestic slider Chocolate. Also of note is the move from a circular, iPod-wannabe directional pad to a rectangular pad, found in versions of the Chocolate.

The clamshell Chocolate by LG is expected to launch later this year on Verizon Wireless.
chocolateverizon.JPGEven though I blasted Verizon , I am happy to announce that they will be officially carrying the line of LG Chocolate phones that have been making waves overseas.

The page doesn't have much information besides a nifty interactive rotatey phone model and a "Tell me when it is available" link, but a previous about the Verizon availability suggested an October 7 release. Given that there is already a product/teaser page up for this phone, lets hope it is sooner. Thanks, Chris.

Edit: We got a hot tip straight from an insider's mouth. The anonymous tipster dropped a solid date, August 7. Be prepared, be very prepared.

Thanks, T.
